On 28th October 2022, Friday, Mukti organized a value education training program for the Mukti Support School teachers at Krishnachandrapur. This training program was a joint venture of Mukti and “Vivek Pathe”, with a view to inculcating value education as a part of mainstream education and daily life.
The training program was divided into two parts and three modules. The first part was scheduled from 9:30 am -12:30 pm and the second part was from 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm. 25 teachers from 5 centers – Krishnachandrapur I and II, Purba Surendranagar, Sutabecha and Gopalnagar Banimandir attended the training program. The training was conducted by the trainer Mr. Mahananda Halder.
In the first module, there was a detailed discussion about the duties of the teachers of Mukti Support School. They were advised to strengthen the relationship between teachers and students by introspection on their own behavior, showing appreciation ( that can be tangible or intangible), being nonjudgmental, controlling their own emotions, identifying different emotions and how to act on them, and being an active listener. The teachers were trained on these subjects through various activities.
The second module was on inculcating values in students. Understanding and imbibing some general concepts is very important for education in life skills. Values are based on seven virtues – responsibility, honesty, self-belief, forgiveness, respect for others, ability to share and introspection. Teachers were instructed to teach students to grasp these concepts and teachers were guided on how to do so.
The topic of the third module was religion and sensibility. The objective of this session was to create a holistic view of religion in the minds of the students. Teachers were asked to inculcate in students the mindset of respecting their own religion as well as the religion of others and to create a clear sense of the difference between religion and ritual. Wales” for helping Mukti in making a positive difference.
