Nandini Maity is a former trainee and a present trainer for the “Swabalamban Accelerator in Sundarban” (SWAS) project run by Mukti and supported by SIDBI (Small Industrial Bank of India). Ms. Maity has been felicitated with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.
Nandini resides at Kuyemuri village, Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas district. She was a SWAS trainee in 2021. On the virtue of her efficiency and skill, she was promoted to the position of food processing trainer. In February 2022, she opened her own stall with seven of her co-workers near Kuyemuri Milan Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. Nandini is the expert guide and the leader of her team. The group makes 15-20 kg of chanachur (sour, spicy, sweet snacks) daily. They sell the snacks in 250-gram packets. Besides, chanachur they also make jam, jelly and pickles. With great dedication and hard work, Nandini has transformed the stall into a small outlet named “Nandini Food Product”.
The FSSAI logo will be displayed on her product packages and the registration number will be displayed on the outlet premises. The FSSAI license can provide her food business with legal benefits, build goodwill, assure customers of safety and quality, create consumer awareness, and assist in business expansion, as she can approach investors with greater confidence.
