The Mukti TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) team has organized a virtual sponsor student meeting instead of a face-to-face meeting on 16th March’22, Wednesday. The meeting has been conducted by Mr. Ranjan Dattagupta and his sponsored students.
Mukti expresses sincere gratitude to Mr. Dattagupta though saying thank you may not be enough. Your donations and heartfelt giving have been the driving force to keep these poor yet meritorious students going and alive.
Mr. Dattagupta is presently residing in Atlanta, USA. He loves to serve needy people. Being inspired by his parents, from his childhood he is working for their care and healthy life. He has been associated with Mukti since 2020. He has chosen Mukti as one of his charities, to support its cause in providing necessary resources for the children’s education, academic growth, and family support.
This is the third time Mr.Dattagupta has attended such a meeting. He is sponsoring a total of 4 students. This year he has selected 2 new students.
Umme Habiba is pursuing MBBS final professional from the Institute of Post Graduate of Medical Education & Research, SSKM Hospital. After a few months later she will start an internship at her institution. Umme lives in Barafalimari of Coochbihar district with her parents and her younger sister. Both the sisters are very meritorious students. Her sister is doing B.Sc Nursing from College of Nursing, Kalyani. From her childhood, Umme wants to be a doctor. Her father is the only bread earner of her family. He is a private tutor of the Arabic language as well as a farmer and her mother is a homemaker. Due to low family income, it was not possible for her parents to arrange money for their daughters’ higher education. But her parents always encouraged them to continue their studies.
Debkanta Nandi is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering with Food Technology & Biochemical Engineering final year from Jadavpur University. He wants to become a researcher. He with his parents resides in Dankuni, Hooghly. His father works as a daily wager as well as a farmer. It is impossible for him to continue his family expenses and the study of Debkanta. The mother of Debkanta is a homemaker. He has seen how his mother has kept their family happy even with very little income. The struggles and courage of his parents have inspired him over and over again. It is the indomitable spirit of Debkanta that helps him to receive job offerings from companies like PWC, ZIFO, INFOSYS in the midst of his course. But he wants to continue his higher studies even from abroad if possible. He has cracked the GATE exam with a decent score last year. He is willing to take admission to IIT.
Moupali Chakraborty has been selected this year and she is presently pursuing BA 2nd year with English Honors. She comes from Champadanga, Tarakeswar, Hooghly. She stays with her parents at her residential address in Hooghly. Being a Brahmin it has been very difficult for her father to manage family requirements and education expenses. She wishes to pursue Master degree and wants to crack a Govt. job and support her family as well.
Ambika Pradhan lives at Uttar Sitarampur village, Patharpratima Coastal area, West Bengal. Her family consists of her mother and elder sister who has already gone married. Her father passes away when she was in class VI. He has been working as a daily laborer. She lives with her mother who is the only bread earner of the family. She is a maidservant and works in household chores. Currently, she is pursuing M.A 1st year with Philosophy Honors from Calcutta University, Alipore campus. Her future plan is to crack the NET examination and pursue Ph.D. and become a professor. To pursue higher studies she needs strong financial support which her mother is unable to provide her. Her dreams come into reality when Mr. Datta Gupta extends his helping hand towards her.
Mr. Dattagupta motivated them to do great things in the future and advised them to do higher studies as far as they can. He has assured his help throughout their career. He said they can communicate with him directly whenever they want.
During the meeting, all students shared their family background, studies and future goals. Every student sought valuable advice and guidance from their donor. Students promised that with the blessing of Mr. Datta Gupta they will achieve their dreams at any cost and stand beside their family, parents and others.
The attendees expressed their happiness to meet each other. They wished to meet once again.
