Areas to look into:
The teachers concerned that teaching quality in West Bengal’s Districts should be more updated and improved by improving quality of teachers’ training institutions. They expressed that teaching system and curriculums are need to be relevant to our contemporary society. Since 80% populations reside in rural settings, education system, curriculums, syllabi and teaching methodologies should importantly be emphasized on the need for a rural outlook. Besides, vocational training is essential for grassroots students as an important tool of employability creation, economic empowerment and livelihood improvement. The teachers also concerned that education system in the country is not yet changed positively since the Independence thereby hampering quality education. Quality education will be hopefully in place in future as already the President and Prime Minister of India are now emphasizing improvement of education.
