A 5 day free training on soft toys making has been started for rural women at Mukti Training Center at Kankandighi from 10th March. Mukti has aimed to associate 1,000 women for the training program. This week 50 women were enrolled for the said program.
SIDBI is the associated partner of Mukti in training the women. Mukti is grateful to SIDBI who is helping the rural women to be self- reliant through such training programs.
The project has been named as SWAS (Swabalamban Accelerator in Sunderban). On the first day of the training program, Mr. Raghunath Bairagi (Program Manager MCDF), Mr.Rajani Kapat (Social worker) Mr. Ajoy Naskar (project Coordinator) Mr. Shyam Sunder Mondal (Social worker) and Ms. Arpita Purkait. (President of Kankan Dighi Forum) were present at the center.
Each day, two sessions (morning and afternoon) are going and the duration of the class is 3 hrs. 25 women can attend each session. They will be taught skills of different types of toy making and its marketing techniques. The trainees have also been provided with kits required for making soft toys at free of cost.
After the completion of the soft toys training, the training on food processing will start.
