Second Sponsor Student Virtual Meeting Between Mr. Debkumar Bandyopadhyay and His Sponsored Students

On 13th August 2022, the Mukti TSS team conducted another virtual sponsor student meeting between Mr. Debkumar Bandyopadhyay and his sponsored 4 students. Among the 4 students 3 students – Sidhartha Moule, Sourav Halder and Deepsikha Dutta attended the meeting. This has been their second meeting. They met virtually for the first time on 24th January 2022.

Mukti conveys honest and genuine gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Bandyopadhyay for sponsoring the studies of the said students. Your scholarship is priceless and will definitely help the students in their educational endeavors.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay is a retired CEO/ president in India and abroad. He is currently working as a non-executive Director in a foreign company. He is associated with Mukti from this academic session, 2021-22.

During their long discussion, Mr. Bandyopadhyay individually enquired about all his sponsored students and has given suggestions and guidance to that the students can attend their greatest dreams.

Sourav Halder is currently pursuing B.Sc. 2nd year with Chemistry Honors from Jadavpur University. Mr. Bandyopadhyay asked him how he has scored in 1st semester and what subjects he has taken besides Chemistry. Sourav replied that he has scored 75%. Mr. Bandyopadhyay congratulates him and tells him to aspire with such marks. While answering about the subjects Sourabh tells him that he has learned communicative English online and physics in 1st semester (1st year) and is continuing with math, environmental science and computer language in 2nd semester. He has advised Sourav to take private physical/offline coaching classes in communicative English so that he can secure a prosperous job in the future.  Because of how the world is moving without developing English speaking capability he may not go too far. With spoken English, he has also advised Sourav to take private computer coaching classes till his college reopens as he doesn’t even have basic knowledge of computers. Sourav has been enthused by Mr. Bandyopadhyay about how essential it is to know good communicative English and basic computer knowledge to lead a respectable life in this changing world. Mr. Bandyopadhyay wishes him best wishes for his bright future.

Deepshikha Dutta is currently pursuing B.Sc. Nursing 2nd year from Viswabharathi Group of Institution, Bangalore. Mr. Bandyopadhyay wants to know where she lives and what her father’s occupation is. Deepsikha replies she resides with her parents and younger sister at Nadiha village under Purulia District of West and her father runs a small Betel shop near their locality. Then Mr. Bandyopadhyay queries about her course. She answers that she is pursuing 2nd year of nursing which is a 4 years course. The duration of her course is from September 2020 to October 2024. They are a total of 45 students in her class. He asked Deepsikha whether she will do any specialization course within these 3 years. Deepsikha said only after the end of the course she can do the specialization. Her second-year exam will be conducted after the holiday. Due to increasing cases of Dengue, her college has been temporarily closed and her college is conducting online classes. He asks Deepshikha why she feels interested in doing this course. She replies she has been inspired by her cousin. Her cousin has also completed BM and now is working in a Govt hospital. He asked her if she is facing any problems at present or do she have any suggestions/comments regarding the TSS scholarship. Deepsikha says she is happy with what she is pursuing and she hasn’t any complaints or suggestions regarding the TSS program. He wishes her a better future.

Siddhartha Moule is pursuing B.Tech, Electrical department 2nd year from Ramkrishna Mahato Govt. Engineering College in Purulia.  Mr. Bandyopadhyay queries him about his course and what he has learned. Siddhartha says that he gets admitted in 2020 and in 2024 his course will be completed. They are attending offline classes for the 4th and 5th semesters. In the 1st and 2nd years till the 1st semester, they have done online classes. He is an electrical engineer and has learned Data Science algorithms. He has completed the Python course with his own effort and initiative. Mr. Bandyopadhyay advised him to take coaching on communicative English. Siddhartha tells him that he lives in the remotest place of Purulia where there is no facility to join coaching classes to learn communicative English. Mr. Bandyopadhyay’s son Mr. Anirban Banerjee suggests 3 ways to improve his English speaking capability. First, to read English novels, storybooks, magazines, newspapers or anything on a regular basis and a little louder. Second, to hear group discussions, speeches, tutorials and debates in English. Third, practice writing daily work in a notebook and read it 10 times. After reading stand in front of a mirror and tell yourself whatever you have written. Siddhartha has been suggested to go through the practice for 1 month and his communicative English will improve for sure. They wish him all the best.

The sponsor and the students thank each other for attending the meeting. The meeting ended in a cheerful mode.
