Mukti has conducted the second phase of value education training for the teachers of Kishlaya and MSS (Mukti Support School) on 18th September 2022 at Shipur Umesh Chandra center, Sahara, Egra, Purba Medinipur. The training has been empowered by “Vivek Pothe”. 26 teachers have been provided value education training by the trainer Mr. Briguram Mondal. The first part of the training program has been conducted on 10th August 2022 at Menakapur, Paschim Medinipur. On behalf of Mukti, MSS project Coordinator Mr. Ritish Kumar Shyamal has organized the training session.
In the training session, it has been conveyed why teachers value education training is also as important as the students’ training. Ordinary Teachers can bring about extraordinary transformation in society. A teacher should practice what he preaches. Teachers are a role-model for the students. Their actions convey more than their words. Students learn values from what the teachers are rather than from what they say. Teacher makes a maximum impact on the personality of a student in the formative years. If contemporary education is to be value-based it can never be done without the teachers themselves understanding, appreciating and upholding the life sustained moral values. If one cannot practice these values, one should not dream of teaching a job.
Teachers are encouraged to inculcate values in students. Understanding and imbibing some general concepts is very important for values education. The fundamentals of basic values are – the sense of responsibility, the spirit of sharing, honesty, self-belief, forgiveness, respect for others and capacity for self-analysis. The fundamentals on which values stand must be discussed with the students at a preliminary stage and the belief must be created that if they do not build their lives in this way, they will never get the respect they deserve as human beings in society.
