Mukti set up an organic laboratory, on 23rd July 2023 at the Mukti Sustainable Agricultural Movement (SAM) office, dedicated to the production of a diverse range of micronutrients and organic supplements for plant protection and growth. This commendable effort was made possible under the expert guidance of Dr. Krishnendu Acharya, a Professor from Calcutta University.
The primary motivation behind the lab’s inception stems from the detrimental consequences of prolonged chemical fertilizer usage, leading to the depletion of essential natural biological fertilizers in the soil. Recognizing this pressing issue, Mukti resolved to take proactive measures to rejuvenate the soil’s fertility. Their vision is centered around reintroducing crucial microbial fertilizers into the soil, which can effectively restore its health and balance.
To ensure the availability of high-quality fertilizers, Mukti embarked on a mission to dissolve these microbial wonders in live cultures within a specified period, thereby optimizing their potency and effectiveness. The ultimate goal is to provide farmers with an invaluable resource, counteracting the excessive reliance on expensive commercial fertilizers of dubious quality.
Taking an experimental approach, Mukti has chosen to commence the initiative with a select group of 10 farmers. By carefully monitoring the results and impact over the next 6 months, the organization aims to evaluate the success of their venture. Once proven successful, this initiative will be expanded, reaching out to a broader community of farmers, thereby fostering sustainable agricultural practices on a larger scale.
The establishment of this organic laboratory symbolizes a beacon of hope for farmers, promising a greener and healthier future for their fields and crops. Mukti’s commitment to providing cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions demonstrates its dedication to the well-being of both the farming community and the environment at large.
