On 20th January, 2020, 3 representatives of Consulate General of the Republic of Germany visited Mukti village. Consul General Mr. Malfred Auster along with other two representatives visited MCDF and MIT Office Raidighi branch, construction site of model houses, Mukti community horticulture nursery and poultry farm, MSS, MAMA school generally known as Mukti Community Study Support Center and Mukti SAM office.
MCDF and MIT Raidighi Office visit – The German Consulate representatives arrived around 10:30 AM at Mukti Raidighi office to meet the MCDF members of various branches. MCDF members welcomed them with Rose and Chandan (Sandalwood). There were 40 members among which 12 were group Presidents and others were Secretaries, Treasures and common members. They came from the branches – Purba Sridharpur, Kankandighi, Raidighi I and II, Canning, Jaynagar, Kultali, Sonatikari, Herembogopalpur, Radhakantapur, Laxminarayanpur and Koutala.
The guests met with the members associated with handcraft and viewed their creations with great interest. Mukti handicraft members presented soft toys to the guests.
They spent one and half hours with the MCDF members and discussed about their problems, how MCDF is working and in which blocks. Mr. Malfred Auster was amazed to see the confidence of the members to become self-reliant.
MCDF thanked them for their support. Mukti applied for their assistance so that in future Mukti can buy necessary machines and can create units for the training of the members in each branch.
Mr. Malfred Auster assured them help from their side.
Meeting with the Organic Farmers – To meet the Mukti organic farmers the guests came to Paschim Jata Kansari Para. 65 Mukti farmers welcomed the guests with bouquet of flowers. They asked the farmers why Mukti started organic farming, what type of vegetables they grow, what are the difficulties they faces while farming etc.
Farmers answered all their querries. The guests tasted the cherry tomato ploughed by the farmers and its taste made them overwhelmed. At last the farmers offered them 3 baskets full of organic vegetables that they ploughed in their fields.
They also attended a farmer’s meet at Kankandighi.
After meeting the farmers they had their lunch and started for model village projects at around 4 PM.
Visit to Model Village – The seasonal flowers that Mukti planted beside the roads greeted the guests at the entrance of the model village. They visited horticulture nurseries of Mrs. Kabita Mondal and Mrs. Protima Das and talked with them. They were gifted some flower saplings.
They went to the poultry farm of Mrs. Chandana Halder and observed the Kadaknath Chicken. They praised the venture of Mukti in keeping the society healthy.
They also visited the construction site of model house. They were surprised to see how Mukti is constructing an eco friendly, robust house within a very low budget. They talked with the 40 labors working at that time. They spent almost 40 min there.
Around 5:30 PM they started for Mukti Support School.
MSS Visit – 25 teachers of MSS welcomed the guests. They wanted to know when and why Mukti has started MSS. After knowing the regulations of MSS they wanted to know if the students get time to play as MSS starts at 6 AM and ends at 9 AM and after the coaching the students attend their schools from 10 AM-4 PM. They interacted with the teachers and students too.
MSS teachers explained all their questions. MSS was started to help the poor students. Many of the 1st and 2nd generation do not have adequate knowledge to support the students in their studies. If the students do not get assistance for their education hey will lose interest in studies and either will fall behind or will be dropout. Mukti provides the students educational equipments totally free. That’s why MSS has been so popular. At present each centers are having 125-150 students and the number is growing.
Students expressed their satisfaction to the guests. They became delighted after meeting the students. They suggested increasing the number of female teachers in MSS.
MAMA School Visit – The guests visited one of the MAMA Schools and met with the teacher Mrs. Tapasi Chhatui and her 20 students. They asked the little ones on what subject they are learning and wanted to see their books.
Mrs. Chhatui expressed her gratitude to Mukti and said how she is happy in educating the future generation.
The guests were very pleased and assured their help in future also. To motivate the students they gifted ball and blanket to the students.
The guests appreciated all the activities of Mukti and promised to visit again.
