Organic Store Opened At Airport City

As per the medical journal Annals of Internal Medicine, Organic produce is 30% less likely to be contaminated with pesticides than conventional fruits and vegetables. The research shows that insecticides and pesticides in our daily food can cause many sever health issues such as cancer. Often organic vegetables are fresher as no preservatives are used for these types of vegetables. Indirectly organic vegetables and foods help to have better environment for us by reducing soil pollution, improving fertility of soil, conserving water and energy. Organic foods are also GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) and GE (Genetically Engineered) free. Many studies found that consuming GMOs may cause internal organ damage, slowed brain growth, and thickening of the digestive tract.

Therefore, time has come to understand the need of organic foods and how we can improve our own health condition as well as leave our Earth in a better condition for our future habitants. Few years back MUKTI has taken an initiative to promote the organic agriculture in Sunderban. MUKTI has successfully trained thousands of farmers in Sunderban on organic farming practices. After few years of intense work and effort today a large amount of lands in Sunderban has been transferred into organic farm and considerable amount of organic vegetables are being produced.

However due to high production cost of organic foods it is a challenge for the farmers to get their desire cost. MUKTI has taken an initiative to help these farmers by creating a platform to sell these organic produces. As part of that initiative today especially at several places of Kolkata, MUKTI Fresh organic bazar is a well-known name. MUKTI Fresh is bringing the best quality organic vegetables and rice/daal/egg etc. to several residential communities in Kolkata.

Recently on 19th August 2017, such an on-premises organic vegetable store has been opened at Airport City apartment community in North Kolkata. The society conscious residents of this community came forward and stood by MUKTI to support the farmers of Sunderban. This is being a while the residents of this community was looking for an opportunity to find a better way of having healthy foods for their family and their wish came true when this organic vegetable shop opened at their door step. MUKTI thanks each and every resident of this community to contribute to the initiative to help the farmers of Sunderban and thereby contribute to greater environment & health cause.
