Mukti TSS Students Doing Exemplary in the Society

The study is the first and foremost duty of the students. But there are some other duties that students should do in their free time. These duties are the duties of their society, and this is known as social service.

Mukti is encouraging students to engage themselves in social services as Mukti thinks that if they participate in such social service, patriotic feelings will develop in their minds. They will be true patriots to lead the country properly when they will grow up. They will be able to serve the country better when they will enter jobs after finishing their study. Hence, they play a vital role in society as well as in a country.

Motivated by the ideal of Mukti, side by side with their studies, TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) students are easily taking part in doing some social service. They are participating in illiteracy removing programmers, they are helping the village people in farming, helping people in the time of crisis, making people aware of the dangers of environmental pollution, population growth, gender inequality, etc.

Here, Mukti is sharing some of the stories of TSS students doing exemplary activities in society.

Rahul Sarkar Distributing Mask

Rahul is an MBBS 1st-year student. He is building his career at Midnapore medical College and hospital. He resides with his parents at katrabali village, P.O.- Sandhipur , P.S- Garbet, Paschim Medinipur district. Rahul’s father works as a periodic farmer in some other people farming land. However, his father’s work is limited, which has created difficulties in providing for their family. Away from home, Rahul stays in a hostel to study. His father cannot afford his son’s educational expenses including college fees, tuition fees, hostel costs and books. But his parents are supportive of his studies.

On the basis of his application, GSCA (Garden State Cultural Association) selected him as their sponsored student. This sponsorship is allowing him to continue his education and one day achieve his goal of becoming a doctor.

Rahul is passionate about promoting mask-wearing to stop the spread of COVID-19. He is playing a key volunteer role in a self-effort to provide people with masks. In January 2022 he has distributed masks to more than 50 people. By distributing masks he is spreading awareness and love for the people around him. He is trying to protect every single person he comes in contact with. He has done this job without any remuneration.

Mallika Das Providing Free Tuition to Underprivileged Kids

Mallika is pursuing Nutrition honors (5th semester) from Mahishadal Raj College. She lives with her parents and two younger sisters at Bargoda village, P.O- Bargoda, P.S- Nandakumar under Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal. Her father works as a daily laborer. It has been difficult for her father to cater to three children financially and meet their educational needs. She wants to sit for School Service Commission and become a teacher.

After receiving sponsorship from Mr.Ramesh Kacholia, Mallika is able to focus on her dreams of becoming a teacher and bring hope to her family.

Mallika’s day begins by teaching kids alphabets and different subjects like math, Bengali, English, etc as her students are all junior to primary school students Her backyard is now her classroom. In December 2021 she started with 6 students and now her student number has increased to 8.

Afrid Javed Participated in Free Medical Camp

Afrid Javed is an MBBS 3rd professional part 1 from Burdwan medical college. He lives with his parents at Khodar bazaar village, P. O and P. S – Baruipur in South 24 Parganas district. His father used to work as a daily laborer. The situation turned worse during the lockdown period when his father lost his job. Since their family’s earnings are low and unpredictable, it has been difficult to put food on the table and pay for utilities. At one point, Afrid had to borrow Rs 10,000 from a friend to pay his first semester fees. Afrid is a bright student and has dreams of becoming a doctor and serving others. Hence, he has been in need of sponsorship which will help to pursue a career in medicine.

Observing his determination Srijan Reality Pvt. Ltd. selected him as their sponsor student.

Being a medical student Afrid took part in a free medical camp organized by his college to provide health services and create an environment where the underprivileged community gets sensitized about health issues. The camp was organized in August 2021. Apart from providing basic treatment, general check-ups and medicines he also helped people to be aware of their health status. He provided treatment to 150 sick people.

Chaitali Paikira Trying to Bring the School Dropouts Back to School

Chaitali Paikira is pursuing GNM nursing (3rd year) from GNM Nursing Training School. She belongs to a family of 5 members including her parents, elder brother and younger sister. She resides at Birkada village, P.O- Jamirapal, P.S-Nayagram in Jhargram district of West Bengal. Her mother takes care of the family by making things from bamboo-like winnowing fans, hand-fans etc. Her father is physically weak and cannot go outside for work. Sometimes her father goes to the market to sell the handmade bamboo materials. Her elder brother assists her father. Her mother works very hard to up bring her family and children. However, her mother’s income does not enough to sustain all of them. This has created challenges in affording education fees and other expenses. In spite of extreme poverty, her parents always encourage her to keep on studying. She inherits a struggling spirit from her mother.

Out of a keen desire to make the dream come true, she applied to Mukti TSS for sponsorship. She is thankful to Mr. Gora Sengupta for selecting her for the sponsorship.

Being a resident of Jhargram Chaitali has noticed that the dropout rate of children in rural and tribal areas of Jhargram district has increased a lot which has become a major concern. She, on her own initiative, has decided to do fieldwork and make the students and their parents aware of the value of education. She is working for the welfare of educationally deprived and oppressed students. After her study hours, she visits the tribal hamlet to meet the students who have dropped out for different reasons and to know the reason. She organizes awareness sessions for their parents. In January she has helped 7 students to resume their education.
