In order to provide primary education to the marginalized children in the remote areas of the Sundarbans, Mukti has taken initiative to build Mukti Kishalaya Support Schools in different blocks. Mukti and “Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro South” go hand in hand to promise a better future by educating underprivileged children. To successfully implement this promise, 6 Mukti Kishalaya Support Schools have been set up in the Kultali Block of South 24 Parganas District.
These centers provide primary education to underprivileged children, ultimately mainstreaming them into nearby government and private schools. Among the 6 support Kishalaya schools, 4 have come into operation on 2nd May 2022. Rest 2 centers will start from 10th May 2022. A healthy environment has been motivating the children to attend classes regularly.
Mukti has appointed four experienced teachers in each center to teach the children in the right method. Mukti will train these teachers regularly to improve their skills.
Mr. Madhusudhan Bairagi while delivering his valuable speech during the inauguration program aware of the students and their parents of the concept of Mukti Kishalaya support School. There is a big difference between rural and urban schools in terms of primary education. Due to the fact that rural children are deprived of the modern education system, when they are going to take admission in a city school or college for higher education, it is seen that they are not getting the opportunity to get admission or are lagging behind in education. Rural children are facing these problems due to a lack of education infrastructure, teaching methods and skilled teachers. Added to this each year the ratio of school dropout students is increasing at an alarming rate. This has to be stopped and the knowledge gap between the rural and urban students must be filled.
Through these support schools, Mukti is trying to find out the weaker parts (on a subject basis) of the students and teach them accordingly by paying special attention to those subjects, improving their English writing, reading and speaking skills and above all initiating such an education structure so that they can easily get the opportunities to admit themselves in urban schools.
Below is given the number of students in each center-
Center | Number of Students |
12 No Jalaberia | 60 |
Dakshin Gorankathi | 60 |
Kantamari | 60 |
Sankijahan Colony | 60 |
