As per the Govt. official record, three lakh houses were damaged by the cyclone Yaas. Namkhana, Gosaba, Kakdwip, Kultali, Basanti, Sagar, Patharpratima and Canning of South 24 Parganas, and Digha, Tajpur, Shankarpur, Ramnagar, Kontai, Nandigram, and Kolaghat in Purba Medinipur were the worst affected areas.
Mukti, just after the havoc activated all the relief and rehabilitation work for the affected community. For the homeless, Mukti in the Blocks of Basanti, Canning, Mathurapur II, Namkhana, Kakdwip, Patharpratima of Sundarban, Tamluk, Kolaghat, Sutahata, Sahid Matangini, Tamluk 18No ward, Haldia Municipality, Khejuri, Contai, Ramnagar , Mahishada, Nandigram I, II, Nandakumar of Purba Medinipur and Sribora I, Pingla, Sabang, of Paschim Medinipur has already distributed tarpaulins to 743 families.

While many people in the accessible areas have been provided with temporary shelters, hundreds of families are still spending days and nights in the open without a roof over their heads. In the midst of the monsoon, they need to cover the broken roofs and leftover belongings from the heavy rain.
Mukti to support them continuing the tarpaulin distribution drive and this week 45 families get benefitted through the distribution program.
