Mukti Promoting Livelihood by Training the SHG Members On Tailoring

Mukti has been conducting skill development training in fashion designing for the empowerment of women at Amratala village under Basanti Block. Mukti is providing 1 month skill training in tailoring course for the SHG members through teaching classes and providing them stitching machines.

Mukti started the training program from last two weeks. 30 SHG members showed their interest to participate in the training course. The trainer started their class with theoretical knowledge; gradually she will teach them the technique of cutting and stitching.  Everyday their class starts from 12 PM and continues till 4 PM. The trainer is giving them training mainly on ladies garments like frock, blouse, petticoat, nighty and salwar suits. Mukti has rented 5 sewing machines for them.

The training program is aimed to develop confidence for the SHG members so that they become self dependent. As per the desire of women, Mukti is conducting job oriented skillful trainings.  In future Mukti will conduct such training programs on Incense stick (Dhupkathi /Agarbati) and Handicrafts (Solar Kaj)

After the completion of training each of them can start their self-employment units or they can join nearby textiles garment shops. Trained members can also get orders from neighborhoods. With this small unit they will be able to earn an additional income for their families.
