Mukti, to expand its scope of work, organized three conferences with the ASFHM in the East, West Midnapore and Jhargram districts in September. In October, with the same objective, Mukti organizes another trip in three districts of North Bengal – Alipurduar, Kochbihar and Jalpaiguri. With lots of hopes and dreams, the Mukti team left Kolkata for Alipurduar on the 21st October 2021, Thursday.
Mukti a renowned Non-Government Organization with ASFHM (Advanced Society for Headmaster and Headmistress) of Alipurduar District organize the first conference on women empowerment of tribal women in the Dooars region of North Bengal on 22 October 2021, Friday at the conference hall of Hotel Dooars Mountain.
Presidium of the conference is formed by Mr. Manas Bhattacharya, the President of ASFHM Alipurduar District along with Mr. Sankar Haldar, the Founder-President of Mukti, Mr. Satyajit Roy, Secretary of Mukti, Mr. Debabrata Haldar, CEO of Mukti, Mr. Chandan Kumar Maity, General Secretary of ASFHM State committee and retired H.M Mr. Jiban Kumar Paul.
The guests are felicitated by the Headmistress members of ASFHM Alipurduar. Ms. Aditi Roy, a renowned radio artist sings the opening song. “Rakhi” is tied to a sapling to give a message – the co-existence of nature and human beings. Being a part of nature humans should shoulder the responsibility of saving what is Green and full of lives.
The Program begins at 11.00 am with the burning of the Lamp and by laying a wreath at the portrait of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. The classical Odissi dance of Pratyusha Bhattacharya and Madhurima Chatterjee and the next Saraswati Bandana of Anamika Roy Ganguly touches everyone’s heart.
Before the beginning of the conference, Mr.Chandan Maity delivered a valuable speech on the aims and objectives of the joint venture of Mukti and ASFHM. Both joined hands together for the upliftment and overall development of the tribal women residing in the Dooars region of North Bengal. Then one by one Mr. Sankar Haldar, Mr. Satyjit Roy and Mr. Debabrata Haldar deliver their speeches in the various projects of Mukti and their importance in present days (Distribution of Oxygen Concentrator, TSS, MSS, WEP projects)
After the conference, Ganojagoron Mancha, an NGO of Alipurduar guides the Mukti team to visit the local Tribal Village, Kalkut. Mukti Officials talk with the tribal women about their social and family problems, economic condition and encourage them in self-help activities to improve their economic condition with the assistance of Mukti and Ganojagoran Mancha.
