The outbreak of COVID-19 in India and the consequent lockdown have distorted livelihoods across the country. In addition to this, the state of Bengal was recently hit by super cyclone ‘Amphan’, which has wreaked havoc in a large part of southern Bengal.

In a time when Sunderban is reeling under the pressure of hunger and poverty, Mukti, stand out as a source of indomitable spirit, assuring, that Sunderban will rise again on their shoulders.
Community kitchens are being organized all across Sunderban under the leadership of Mukti to feed the Amphan affected needy. Mukti activists reached the remotest parts of the Sunderbans, providing the people there with basic necessities. Mukti organized one community kitchen at Krishnachandrapur under Mathurapur Block.
Mukti is feeding 500+ Amphan victims daily at Krishnachandrapur with Rice, Dal and Soyabean curry.
