Mukti started operating medical camps from 23rd June, 2021 at the Yaas affected areas of Sundarban to provide medical relief to the affected population. In the aftermath of Yaas, injuries, spread of communicable diseases and worsening of non-communicable diseases were reported among the most vulnerable population of soceity. This year while fighting against the second wave of Covid-19, Mukti has taken several safety measures for running the medical camps both in well being of the patients, medical staffs and Mukti volunteers.
To maintain social distancing Mukti is allowing 100 patients in a day. The camp timing has been extended from morning till evening to avoid gathering at a time. Proper hand sanitization, wearing mask and checking temperature with the contactless infrared thermal scanners is a mandate in every medical camp.
If any patient gets detected with high fever or difficulty in breathing, they are referred to nearby Mukti Covid Care Units. Mukti volunteers are helping them to reach to the Mukti Covid Care Unit.
In these medical camps doctors are treating the patients suffering from cold or cough, water borne diseases, skin infection etc which are most common after the aftermath of cyclone and subsequent flood and also prescribing the medicines.
Mukti in association with “Kolkata Gives” and “Rural Health Care Foundation” providing this service to the affected people in free of cost.
