Mukti is motivating farmers and undertaking interventions for cultivating exotic vegetables. This will lead to the welfare of farmers by increasing production and remunerative returns, as exotic vegetable farming is a profitable venture. It can become a sustainable source of livelihood for the farmers and contributes significantly to food security in the country.
As a part of the intervention, Mukti supported 85 progressive organic farmers of 8 villages of Nagendrapur and Kankandighi GP with exotic seeds. The distribution program was organized in Mukti SAM (Sustainable Agricultural Movement) office premises at Purba Sridharpur on 14th October 2022. Seeds of Leek, Broccoli, Celery, Cherry Tomato, Strawberry, Parsley, Zucchini, Red Cabbage, Bok Choy, Chinese cabbage, Capsicum, Ornamental chili and Lettuce have been distributed. Farmers chose the seeds according to what they wished to cultivate.
Before the start of cultivation, Mukti will organize an exotic vegetable cultivation training program for the beneficiaries.
