Mukti celebrated the third “Sankalpa Diwas” (Resolution Day), on New Year’s Day i.e. 1st January 2023, Sunday at Purba Sridharpur to call the people to rise against all negativity through the Awakening of Goodwill. More than 6,500 people including Mukti Volunteers, Staff, MCDF (Mukti Community Development Fund) Members, Teachers of MSS (Mukti Support School) and Kishalaya Schools, SAM (Sustainable Agricultural Movement) Farmers of 8 villages ( Purba Sridharpur, Damkal, Baradanagar of Nagendrapur GP and Purba Jata, Paschim Jata, Uttar Kankandighi and Dakshin Kankandighi of Kankandighi GP) and villagers under 2 Gram Panchayats (Nagendrapur and Kankandighi) spontaneously participated in the program with great enthusiasm and vigor to make the event a grand success. This year a new area of Nagendrapur GP – from Tulsir More to Simultala via Sokherbazar was added. The celebration of “Sankalpa Diwas” started at 7 am and continued till 9:30 pm.
Mukti dedicated this occasion to all its philanthropic friends whose hard work, and relentless efforts are the way forward for Mukti and inspiration for serving people.
The day started with the Yoga and Meditation session followed by a drawing competition, Kite flying competition and community picnic.
At 2 pm the main program of “Sankalpa Diwas” started. With the commemoration of the program with the conch sound Mr. Ratan Baidya – a senior villager aged around 80 years hoisted the National flag and Mr. Sankar Halder – Founder President of Mukti hoisted the organization’s flag. A white pigeon was flown as a sign of peace and Confetti Blaster was blown immediately. The national anthem was sung.
On the main stage, in front of the yoga center, the distinguished guests collectively lit the lamp to usher in the event. The inauguration song “Amar matha noto kore dayo he tomar chorono dhularo pore” was sung by Mr. Uttam Santra. The leaders of the 7 projects (Go Green, SIDBI environment, Housing, Education, Health, MCDF and SAM) introduced their teams to the audience, describe their activities in detail and took pledges. 7 “working committee” members of Mukti as advisory members of those projects enunciate their valuable speeches in front of the audience.
Cultural programs (yoga dance – Natya, Santali dance, songs etc.) were organized in between project presentations. 3 special guests – Mr. Nirapada Debnath (Ex Pradhan of Nagendrapur GP and retired Head Master), Mr. Himansusekhar Halder (Prof. of Raidighi College) and Mr. Timir Ranjan Bhattacharya (BOD of Mukti) gave their speeches. The main program of “Sankalpa Diwas” ended with the motivational speech of Mr. Halder and a vote of thanks.
The joy of giving was celebrated through “Danotsov”. The award ceremony was followed after “Danotsov. Mukti SAM farmers and Cultural group performed an awareness drama and “Putul Naach”.
Greeting everyone for the New Year, with the promise of prosperity and to observe this day every year the program of “Sankalpa Diwas” 2023 ended at 9:30 pm.
