Mukti Announces 9th Batch Of TSS Scholarship 2015

MUKTI celebrated the 9^th Annual programme of Talented Students Sponsorship on 28^th November’2015 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata. The programme was inaugurated by the famous Bengali author, Sri. Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. Among the Guests present were Dr. Tarun Naskar, Prof of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jadavpur University; Dr. Soumyendra Kumar Bagchi, well wisher and long time associate of Mukti; Sri. Bijon Sarkar, School Teacher; Sri. Sankar Halder, President of Mukti; Sri. Asis Halder, Secretary of Mukti and Sri. Anindya Sen, Treasurer of Mukti, dignitaries from various fields of social work and education. Flower bouquets were handed over to them for welcoming and acknowledging for their participation and continued patronage. 

The program began with the welcome song by one of the current scholarship holder student of Mukti. The Chief Guest and the other dignitaries then lighted the ceremonial lamps, signifying brightness and continuity of knowledge.

The president of Mukti, Sri. Sankar Halder welcomed all the students and guardians. He recounted the birth of MUKTI and enumerated the various developmental initiatives of the organization since last 12 years. He gave an overview of the Talented Student Sponsorship Project and encouraged students to remain associated with Mukti.

Sri. Shirshendu Mukhopadyay’s speech, unlike his books, was very inspirational. He expressed his content of becoming part of this annual programme and also praised MUKTI for the contribution in the society. Sri. Mukhopadhyay was so overwhelmed that he donated an amount of Rs. 10,000 to the organization and felicitated 5 students who had been newly selected for sponsorship in 2015.

After a short tea-break, the remaining dignitaries and guests shared briefly about their association with Mukti and extended encouraging and supporting words to the students.

Sri. Subimal Guria, teacher of the coaching centre of Mukti at Raidighi handed over an amount of Rs.6000 to the President of Mukti and expressed his strong willingness to sponsor a student through that amount.

Mukti got encouraging support from Sri. Bimal Saha, Dr. Saumyendra Kumar Bagchi, Sri. Subimal Guria and Sri. Debkumar Chakraborty. All of them extended facilitation exclusively to the students selected by them.

A total of 110 students is selected for sponsorship of 2015 – 2016 were facilitated by the various dignitaries.

 

The participation of the students from the TSS Alumni and also students from the continuing list of sponsorship was notable.

 

The programme was well moderated by Smt. Gouri Sen.

 

The program ended with thanksgiving to all of them who had contributed to the success directly and indirectly. Thus, it also made our commitment stronger for the coming years to extend support to more and more deserving students.
