Position Summary for Project Managers –

2 Positions: Livelihood/Environment

Under the supervision of MUKTI Operations Director & the respective Senior Program Manager, the ProjectManager will provide leadership in the execution of the respective program. He / She will be accountable for program delivery aligning with MUKTI’s mission. The position will follow the program framework, monitor program/project cycles and ensure cost optimization in discussion with vendors. A key area will be to ensure fiscal discipline and control. He / She will assist the Senior Program Manager to lead high-level program operations, representation and coordination with internal and external engagements.

The Project Manager will report to Senior Program Manager. The positions require traveling to the project sites as and when required. These are currently in the Sundarbans and other districts of West Bengal.

Key job areas :

• Develop project plans and budgets, contributing towards an overall program plan and master budget.
• Contribute to the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals.
• Prepare and oversee project implementation to ensure the timely delivery of project activities
• Prepare timely program and donor reports on project activities
• Work closely with other project teams, finance & fund-raising teams
• Put in place, the monitoring and evaluation plans for the project, ensuring this links to reporting requirements and capacity building of the field staff in carrying out the work.
• Support the implementation of IT software in consultation with software developers and the project team.
• Ensure integration (where appropriate) with other projects, especially looking to strengthen the links, and networking to encourage teams to have an integrated approach to emergency responses.
• Assist in advocacy activities.
• Contribute to communications and media work as required.

 

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience, especially in the not-for-profit sector in Livelihood and Environment projects working closely with field staff and beneficiaries.

Livelihood: Master’s degree in Social work/Finance/ Accountancy. Background in micro-finance operations is preferable.

Environment: Master’s degree in Bio-Tech/ Environmental Science.
