Mukti organized a special training program for horticulture on August, 3rd -7th, 2021 at Mukti SAM (Sustainable Agricultural Movement) office in Mukti Gram under Nagendrapur GP and Mathurapur II Block, for the women of Mukti Gram.
50 women along with the trainer Mr. Jhantu Maity and other Mukti working committee members attended the training program which ran from 2 PM-5 PM.
During the five-day deliberations, participants acquired knowledge and skills on cutting and grafting of 118 varieties of plants, fruit crop technologies, vegetable cultivation; commercial nursery management, integrated pest, diseases & nutrient management, etc. The lectures were interspersed with field visits and practical demonstrations.
The trainees expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the training program and opined that they have learned many new scientific management practices to implement under real farming situations.
Earlier 12 women horticulturalists were associated with Mukti. Now, 50 more women joined. Through this training, 62 women have become self-reliant. Mukti hopes that in the future many women will be interested to become self-reliant through these types of training programs.
