In an inspiring and eco-conscious endeavor, Mukti has taken up the task of planting Vetiver grass and flower saplings to protect the environment and promote greening efforts.
Vetiver grass has been planted along the Damkal area, stretching approximately 3-3.5 kilometers from Damkal Chatterjee Para to DamkalKheya Ghat, and also for about 1 kilometer on the riverside slope of the Baradanagar Purba Musalman Para river embankments. Due to its extensive and robust roots, Vetiver grass is highly effective in preventing soil erosion, bolstering earthen embankments, and reinforcing their resilience against natural disasters.
The commitment to beautifying the region and enhancing its aesthetic appeal extends beyond the riverside. Mukti has undertaken roadside beautification efforts by planting flower saplings at Mukti Organic Village in Paschim JataKansaripara, PurbajataHatuaGheri, and along the stretch from Mayrapara to Bagdimari, covering a distance of almost 4 kilometers. These colorful blossoms are not only a treat to the eyes but also contribute significantly to the overall well-being of the environment.
The work commenced on 20th July 2023 and involves active participation from members of the Mukti Community Development Fund (MCDF). By engaging the local community in this plantation drive, Mukti has not only strengthened their connection with the environment but also provided a sustainable source of livelihood for the residents through Mukti’s “Food for Work” initiative.
Mukti’s holistic initiative is a shining example of how environmental protection, beautification, and community development can come together to create a brighter, greener future for all. Their commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and the lives of those around them serves as an inspiration to us all, demonstrating the profound change that a dedicated group of individuals can bring about. As their green vision takes root and flourishes, Mukti’s efforts are sure to leave a lasting and uplifting legacy for generations to come.
