The Trustee Board of Mukti 2019-20 placed their overview of performance and projects of the past two years. The existing board had shown significant improvements of the past two years they were elected for. With their efficiency, skills and hard work they had fought against all the adverse situations like cyclone Bulbul, Covid-19 Pandemic along with cyclone Amphan to serve the poor and needy. Their efforts are admirable.
Here is a brief review of how they had successfully tried to fulfill their responsibility-
MCDF reports were presented by Mr. Gora Sengupta. And Mr. Asim Das.
In 2019 the number of MCDF was 638 which increase to 2141 just in one year, 2021. Number of members increases from 6333 to 22456. There were 7 Branches in 2019 and now there are 24. Number of loan disbursed from 882 to 1391. Total loaned amount accelerates from 1.06 crore to 1.67 crore. In 2019 the total saving collection was 60 lakhs and in 2021 it became 2.30 crore.
Beside these Mukti had organized many training programs and workshops on skill development to make them self-reliant.
Educational initiatives were explained by Mr. Anindya Dsagupta.
MSS – Number of MSS increased from 15 to 24. Number of students increased from 1485 to 1736. During pandemic when the schools were closed Mukti arranged online classes for the students of MSS. A special coaching program was introduced for the Madhyamic Examinees. Mukti also organized educational seminars for the students.
MAMA school – Launching MAMA School for the students of class 1-4 is a great achievement of the existing board. 45% students enrolled their names in class 1, 14% in class 2, 23% in class 3 and 18% in class 4.
MIT – In 2019-20, 117 students enrolled their names in MIT and in 2020-21, 85 students enrollment were done. Mukti provided computer and spoken English skills to the unemployed youths in Raidighi and helped the students to prepare them to complete his/her technical education to get meaningful occupation. Mukti offered courses on MCDOA, MCSWA, MCAM, MCDPO and spoken English to the MIT students. Mukti also helped the students by linking them to job placement agencies.
Mukti Employment Exchange – Mukti Employment Exchange is one of another milestone achieved by the existing board. The object of Mukti is to build strong carrier in private sectors of unemployed youths in the Raidighi, Nagendrapur GP area of South 24 Pargnas and to initiate the student with job agencies preparing them for interview.
Mukti Employment Exchange collects student data from various places of Raidighi & Nagendrapur GP area of South 24 parganas. Mukti organized student counseling in monthly basis. Mukti appointed Dream line job school (Consultancy) to provide interview training for the students.
In 2021, 57 New Student had enrolled his/her name in Mukti Employment Exchange for next interview. 4 students got the job through Mukti Employment Exchange. 1 student in HDB Finance, Kolkata & 3 Student in Mukti various project (Raidighi).
TSS – In 2018-19, 117students were supported by 52 sponsors and in 2019-20, 133 students were supported by 57 sponsors. With the help of their supporters the students got enrolled in Medical, Engineering, Science and General Streams.
The 2019 -20 created challenges for the students. Some students remained unreachable, communication could not be made, students who passed Higher Secondary were unsure about their future, Mukti was unable to organize face-to- face sponsor student meet, situations decreased motivation of the students towards regular studies, online system of education which had initiated by majority of the institutions had become a greater challenge due to poor access of internet, many students had to rebuild their broken homes due to Bulbul and Amphan cyclones uncertainty about the improvement of the current covid scenario which is directly related to semesters, exams, admissions, alumni students faced insecurity towards job placements.
All these challenges were overcome by Mukti TSS team and with the help of our excellent board members.
Mukti Book Bank – Through 30% model Mukti, in 2019-20 supported 2255 students with 6328 books and in 2020-21 supported 1248 students with 3892 books. Mukti Book Bank supported 734 MSS students with 2936 books in the year 2019-20 and in 2020-21, 732 students received 2829 books.
Environment and Disaster Response – Presentation on environment and disaster response was described by Mr. Abir Biswas.
6,000 students received stationary support, 167 students received scholarship, 1 lakh nutrition packets were distributed to 1485 students, 1.5 lakh napkins were distributed to adolescent girls of MSS, 81,100 patients got treatment from 736 medical camps, 2322 man days under 13 different programs, 53 houses were repaired, 86,061 hungry people were served food in 11 blocks, 2,25,466 meals served to 9617 people in 307 community kitchen, 1.5 lakh Mangroves and 4 lakh other trees were planted as emergency relief and recovery initiatives.
Mukti Green – To receive online services website launched on 10th January 21.
Central Garden Horticulture- 95 plant varieties cultivated. Plant Inventory raised to 40k levels.
Coconut Nursery – 5 nurseries incubated with 10K tree, 5k plantation done by villagers.
Horticulture Nursery – 35 plant varieties cultivated. Plant Inventory raised to 39k levels.
Mangrove Plantation – 4k saplings in inventory at present, 85K implanted at Bhubaneswari Island.
Roadside landscaping – 55K implanted along the roadside of Purba Sridharpur Village.
Employment Generated – Livelihood Support for 90 SHG Women ensured.
Mukti Community Business & Agriculture – Mukti Community Business & Agriculture was presented by Mr. Debabrata Halder.
MCB works in 6 different directions and they are – Mukti Fresh, Mukti Beverage, Mukti Craft, Mukti Cloud Kitchen, Mukti Green and Hello Beta.
Mukti Fresh – 30+ Employment generated through Mukti Fresh, served more than 5000 customers in Kolkata, launched fully functional e-Commerce portal ( Android & iOS mobile application), Mukti Fresh premium products now available at Spencer’s Hyper Mall and Mukti Fresh opened stall in Numerous Housing complexes.
Hello Beta – For the Hello Beta program Mukti started Android & iOS Application LIVE, Fully equipped Admin panel ready for back- end operations, currently offering TSS students for more earning through this service, reached more customers, served more than 4000 elderly people during lockdown, supported with BETA assistance service.
Mukti Crafts – Mukti launched Mukti Craft website and m-web, training and production started at Jatragachi and Raidighi Centers, production of soft toys, scented candle, jute bags and sanitary pads stared at those centers, employment opportunities were created, hundreds of SHG members are getting benefitted though this.
Mukti Beverage – Supported more than 1500 families with portable drinking water during Amphan, supplied 20 Liter water jar as per demand, installed fully automatic water purifier, producing packaged drinking water of 500ml, 1 liter, 2 liter bottles.
Other than this Mukti is working with 5000+ farmers across several GP’s, 200+ organic farmers received certificate, exotic vegetables farming started for the first time – Cherry tomato, broccoli, Capsicum now are cultivatable locally, centralized procurement centres had been opened at Raidighi , Strengthened the community shop, rapid training for farmers in organics had been organised by Mukti and 10+ SME are working to support farmers.
Mukti Community Clinic – Mukti Gram Clinic, supported by Kolkata Foundation in running successfully, MBBS, Local and Global doctors are consulting regular basis, more than 500 patients were served since January with local clinic visit, served 100+ patients with global panel doctors from across globe with various specialty clinic, Mukti is charging Rs 20 flat for local clinic & flat Rs. 50 for global clinic – consultation & Medicine both cover with in this cost, Clinic operates 6 days a week and Thursday is OFF, clinic if fully loaded with basic medical equipment’s like sphygmomanometer, X-Ray viewer, Sugar testing kits etc.
Mukti Medical Camps – Mukti conducted several medicals camps post Bulbul & Amphan, 736+ Camps were conducted and approx 81,100 beneficiaries served with medical care, 10 blocks were covered across Sunderban, created good relationship with donor for low cost implementation.
IT, HR and Admin – It, HR and admin activities were presented by Mr. Satyajit Roy.
Each staff has been allotted own laptop for work swiftness and efficiency, team work during crisis irrespective of specified roles had been encouraged, meetings over zoom, daily sprint call and regular quarterly Board meetings had been developed, developed pantry for office staffs, volunteer engagement increased to almost 11%, team recreation and motivation sustained by acknowledging important dates, team lunch, yearly get- to-gathers were encouraged, food Support for staffs during pandemic was ensured, flexibility of ‘Work From Home’ was planned and improved efficiency due to online work.
Major up gradation and transfer of main site to AWS servers for better security and performance was performed, Mukti Fresh Industry competitive website and App, Hello Beta website and App were launched, regular English Newsletter and Content in website for activities and photos were started, Bengali newsletter was published, SEO work initiated and MCDF, MSS and Partner website work initiated.
The strategies updated were emphasis on security aspects, performance enhancement through use of Cloud service (AWS Migration,) multi vendor involvement and Manage in Fixed Price contract, enhance IT landscape and Use of IT for management and governance, data driven organization, focus more on IT enabled publicity (nano videos, social media) and social media footprint increased.
The presentation of the existing board ended with the thanks giving to our valued partners without whom Mukti will not be able to serve the society.
