“Food for Work” of Mukti Acting as a Livelihood Security for the Poor

In the last four weeks Mukti supported 5701 villagers with food grains who had voluntarily helped to repair the broken embankments. As the repairing work is still in flow, Mukti is continuing the “Food for Work” program for the workers.

The primary objective of the program is to save the lives of the poor by giving them food grains and secondly to make them do some manual work for society. While the workers are receiving the facilities of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act there Mukti is providing them Rs.100 food package everyday which includes Rice, Lentil and Soybean.

Mukti along with “Kolkata Gives” are working hand in hand for the livelihood support of the Yaas affected villagers. This week, together we have facilitated 445 villagers through “Food for Work”.
