First AGM of the MCDF of Kakdwip Branch

The first AGM (Annual General Meeting) of the Kakdwip MCDF (Mukti Community Development Fund) is held on 11^th September 2021, Saturday at Akshaynagar under Kakdwip block. Along with the AGM the new executive committee is also formed. MCDF project administrators along with 100 SHG with 1100 women of Kakdwip MCDF attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the program, MCDF members welcome the MCDF project administrators – Mr. Raghunath Bairagi, the MCDF project coordinator, Mr. Dhananjay Mondal, the loan officer, Mr. Dharmaraj Naskar, the coordinator of Mukti Business help group and Mr. Shantanu Bhoumik, the area coordinator (Patharpratima, Kakdwip, Namkhana).

Mrs. Benurani Jana is elected as President, Mrs. Sampa Das as Secretary and Mrs. Mamata Das as Treasurer.

The meeting began with a speech by Mrs. Benurani Jana, the President of Kakdwip MCDF. She said, “Today is 11^th September 2021, Saturday and this is the first AGM of the MCDF of Kakdwip branch. I am inaugurating this meeting by welcoming and honoring the Mukti officials. Women make up half of society, without them the development of society is not possible. Today’s women are much more aware, they have come forward equally with men.  Education is needed to protect the rights of women. Vidyasagar said if women are not aware, society will not move forward. Women need to be self-reliant to maintain peace in the family. Mr. Sankar Haldar, the President and founder of Mukti, and the other officials have inspired us to organize women. MCDF Kakdwip branch is formed on 25^th August 2020 with 14 SHG groups. Now, we are having 100 groups with 1,100 members. By holding the hand of development we will go much further. For that, I wish for your love and cooperation.”

Mrs. Mamata Das, the treasurer of MCDF Kakdwip presents the last year’s income and expenditure account in front of the group members and also presented their future planning.

• Bank accounts will be created for women.
• Child marriage, female trafficking, bride torture and gambling should be stopped by making people aware.
• The training sessions will be arranged to make every member self-reliant.
• Higher education and tuition will be provided to the sons and daughters of the family.
• The necessary funds for the emergency treatment for the family of each group members and loan arrangements will also be made accordingly.
• A certificate will be given after training.
• Market arrangements will also be made for the sale of handicrafts made by the group members.
• A seedling nursery will be set up in each member’s house.
• According to the educational qualifications of the family members, they will be enrolled in Mukti Employment Exchange.
• Every member will be provided support to cultivate and sell organic vegetables.
• Small traders will be included in the group and they will be provided business loans.
• Emergency relief will be provided.
• One general meeting will be conducted after every three months.
• Government assistance will be provided to the fishermen.

 

At the end of the meeting, they gifted a wall clock to Mukti.
