Since the government has been promoting the use of online services, acquiring computer literacy has become the need of the hour. Mukti has initiated an awareness program on digital literacy with the aim of imparting basic computer skills to rural women. Women of self-help groups (SHGs) are being given basic computer literacy training by Mukti Information Technology (MIT) centers to enable them to use computers for various purposes.
The inaugural ceremony of the digital literacy training workshop was held at EgraShipur Bazar in Purba Medinipur district on 1st April 2023. Six SHG members enrolled in the program. The classes started on 16th April 2023. The classes are conducted twice a week for two hours a day.
The trainees will build up their computer literacy with training on the following topics:
The training will enable the beneficiaries in many ways. For example, they will be able to remain informed on various welfare schemes, seek relevant information for starting entrepreneurship, and record their own data. Successful trainees will earn a certificate from Mukti.
