Coal India Distributes 200 Chicks to 20 Beneficiaries

Mukti organized the third phase of the chick distribution program for 20 beneficiaries of Egra block under the initiative of Coal India‘s project “मुर्गी पालन द्वारा आजीविका और आय सृजन सवार” (Generating livelihood by chick-rearing) on 16^th February 2023 at Suniya village of Sahara GP. The program was graced by Mr. Dilip Ghosh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who is an incumbent Member of the Lok Sabha. Mukti Founder President Mr. Sankar Halder was present as a distinguished guest. The program was presided over by Mr. Ramjibon Maiti, and the Chief Guest was Mr. Pradip Jana; both eminent philanthropists and social workers. Along with them, Mr. Subrata Jana (Coal India project coordinator of Egra block), and Mr. Prabhupada Das (teacher and local philanthropist) were also present in the program. Mr. RitishKumar Shyamal, the project coordinator of Egra block, helped Mukti organize the program.

About 1200 visitors and 40-45 guests including Mukti Support School (MSS) teachers, students, Mukti Community Development Fund (MCDF) members and villagers participated in the program.

200 chicks were distributed during the event, and the beneficiaries thanked Mukti and Coal India. The initiative is expected to generate supplementary income and a livelihood option for rural women, who will be able to open their own poultry farm business for self-reliance.

Mr. Ghosh applauded Mukti for its contribution to the betterment of rural society and said that Mukti is working persistently for the upliftment of deprived sections. He assured Mukti of governmental support for the development of rural Bengal.

To date, the Mukti/Coal India partnership has distributed 36000 chicks to 3600 women of Egra, Dantan and Keshiary blocks.
