MUKTI in association with AID Kolkata has organized the Organic Bazar (Bish Mukto Hat) (Organic Vegetable Market) on India’s auspicious 70th Independence day at Senhati Sikshaniketan School on 15th Aug, 2016 from 8.30 AM to 12 PM. Along with MUKTI many other organization who are practicing organic farming and promoting sustainable agriculture, were present to sell out their produces. More than 200 customers visited the Organic Bazar and enjoyed buying pesticide free and naturally grown fresh vegetables. MUKTI sold around 130 Kgs of fresh produces on that day. This is a small step towards making our Earth free of pesticide and promote organic cultivation.
This Organic Bazar would continue on every Sunday starting form 28th August 2016 onward. We have plan of opening such bazar in various places in Kolkata. MUKTI is also working to open an online Organic Vegetable market soon to promote the sale of organic foods and help the farmers. Organic farming is a low cost pesticide free farming method and MUKTI encourages everyone to consume fresh organic vegetables to protect their own health as well as to promote this low cost farming.
