The Durga Puja is one of the many events that the “Bengali Association of New South Wales” (BANSW) organizes every year in Sydney, Australia. As part of the Puja, an “Anandomela” was organized on the evening of the 30th of September before the Puja. Through this festival, Mukti Australia has raised funds for Mukti India’s cause.
Mukti for Social Development in Australia put up a food stall in this year’s “Anandomela”. Members and 12 enthusiastic volunteers of Mukti prepared a wide range of Bengali dishes. 800 people, including people from different religions and nationalities, bound by kinship to Bengalis visited the stalls, enjoyed the delicious dishes and participated in the Puja.
Their generous participation doubled the joy of the festival and the sale collection surpassed all previous years by more than $2,300. The net proceeds of this collection will go to Mukti India and will be used for the work that is underway.
Mukti expresses sincere gratitude to “Bengali Association of New South Wales” for helping Mukti in making a positive difference.
