Position Summary for Senior Program Managers–

3 Positions: Livelihood/Education/Environment

 Under the supervision of MUKTI President &the Operations Director, the Senior Program Manager will provide strategic direction, adaptive management and overall leadership to the respective program. He / She will be accountable for program delivery aligning with MUKTI’s mission. The position will develop a program framework, oversee program/project cycles and ensure value for money and result-oriented appropriate program adjustments. He / She will assist the Operations Director to lead high-level program operations, representation and coordination with internal and external engagements.

The Positions require traveling to the project sites, will be supported by Project Managers and will be working closely with field staff and beneficiaries.

Core Functions

 Strategy and Vision

• Demonstrate visible leadership and adherence to MUKTI’s core values, principles and strategies- root-caused-based solutions for sustainable development.
• Ensure that the program is implemented to the highest standards that adhere to MUKTI’s mission.
• Ensure sustainable programming is clearly reflected in the project/ reaching out to the poor in Sundarbans and other districts.
• Ensure program objectives and deadlines are tracked and met.
• Support innovative ways of and approaches to sustainable development as designed and developed by volunteer experts and intelligentsias.
• Oversee the performance of program teams and maximize efficiency by strengthening thematic competencies.

Strategic Leadership and Program Management

• Provide strategic direction and overall leadership to the project team, working closely with fundraising &finance teams.
• Regular performance monitoring through team meetings, updating the Operations Director on the ongoing progress
• Communicate with diverse stakeholders – especially donors, Government and development counterparts and the Board of MUKTI.

Compliance, IT &Fiduciary Management

• Manage program office, legal compliance (audit and donors’ requirements) and ensure appropriate procurement, adaptive management and maintenance.
• Oversee financial management, prepare budgets, manage grants contracts, monitor financial commitments and ensure integrity, transparency and zero-tolerance in grants management.
• Manage fiduciary risks by preparing financial plans, reducing inefficient resource use and adopting correct financial management and control mechanisms in MUKTI.
• Lead the implementation of IT software in consultation with software developers.
• Developing& submitting financial& performance reports against key parameters set for the projects.

Required Qualification

Livelihood: Master’s degree in Finance/Accountancy/Social Science with a management background in Microfinance operations.

Education: Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Education and Training with a senior background in the field of Education.

Environment: Master’s Degree in Bio-Tech/Environment Science preferably working in areas of green conservation.

 Experience and Skills

At least12 15 years of professional experience in the respective areas of operations, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. MUKTI is developing IT software in each of its areas of operations and prior knowledge of implementing IT projects will be preferred.
