Sponsor Student Meeting Between Mr. Padmanava Sen and His Sponsored Students

A virtual meeting has been conducted by the Mukti TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) team between Mr. Padmanava Sen and his 3 sponsored students – Anirban Maity, Susmita Bera and Sayantani Samanta on 4^th August 2022 through Google meet. The meeting continues from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Mr. Sen shows his interest to meet the students through an online platform so that students can open up freely in their comfortable and familiar surroundings.

Mukti expresses sincere thanks to Mr. Sen for his generous support to the students. His guidance and exhortation are making the students invigorated to go on their way without getting anxious about their future education.

Mr. Sen has been associated with Mukti since 2018-19. This year he is sponsoring 3 students among whom 2 are science categories & 1 is a general category student. Mr. Sen has received the B.Tech. degree in electronics and electrical communication engineering from the IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India, in 2003, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He is currently leading the RF Design Enablement Group with the Barkhausen Institute, Dresden, Germany. He is an active member of Asha for Education, a long-term collaborator/partner of Mukti.

Anirban Maity is a B. Sc in Hotel & Hospitality Management, a 2nd-year student. He resides at Pinduri village of Paschim Medinipur district. There are 4 members in his family including his parents and his grandmother. His father works as a farmer on other people’s land. He wants to pursue Culinary Art in the future. His parents are very supportive of his studies though they belong to a very economically challenged family who can’t afford his higher education. With a lot of hope he has applied to Mukti TSS for sponsorship and has been selected by Mr. Sen.

Sayantani Samanta while pursuing a 1^st-year B.Sc. general has also applied for a Nursing course. Fortunately, she has got a chance to continue with B. Sc nursing and she is continuing with the course. She lives with her parents, grandparents and sister at Mahendraganj village under Sagar Block of South 24 Parganas district. She belongs to an underprivileged farmer’s family with a very low annual income. With the support of her parents, she applied for TSS sponsorship and she feels fortunate enough to be selected by Mr. Sen who is supporting her to chase her dream.

Susmita Bera passed HS in 2022 and has applied for B.Sc. with Zoology Hons. But she focuses on cracking MBBS and preparing for the NEET exam next year. She has passed the H. S. examination with 87.6% marks from Krishnachandrapur High School. She resides at Kuemuri village of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.  Her family comprises 5 family members. Financial constraints could not hold her back. Instead, with the help of her family members, she is continuing her pursuits. She has received the blessings of Mr. Sen and she is moving forward toward fulfilling her dream with great enthusiasm.

Mr. Sen converses with each pupil individually and makes them understand that he is cognizant of their academic background. He has become glad to know that the students are fully aware of what they want to pursue in the future and how to achieve those. To motivate the students he tells them stories about his own school days and how much struggle he has to face to succeed in his present position. He has advised them to work for social causes and once they achieve their dream to pay back to society. Mr. Sen assured his full support to continue their pursuit so that they can reach their goal. He thanked the students to attend the online meeting with him.

The students have expressed their gratitude to Mr. Sen and asked for his guidance and blessings. They have told M.r Sen that they will not deviate from their specific goals despite any difficulties and will try to do something for society besides education as advised by him.

The meeting ended in a cheerful mode. The meeting ended with a promise to meet again.
