Computer training centers are essential to prepare rural youth for digital transformation. For rural youth, computer skills mean broader employment opportunities, financial security and the freedom to dream big. Mukti to impart computer training to rural youth to enhance their employability scope had inaugurated a Mukti Information Technology (MIT) Center at Egra Shipur Bazar in Purba Medinipur district on 1st April 2023.
42 young boys, who have just passed Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations, are being provided with a basic computer course. Over the three months course, the trainees will build up their computer literacy on the topics- Introduction to computers, Keyboard and digital illustration skills, MS Office and Open Office tools, Internet browsing, Email, Navigating websites and Digital banking.
At this very initial stage, Maity Foundation has provided 2 computers to the center. The students are divided into 5 batches, with 8 students in each batch. The classes are conducted twice a week. Successful trainees will earn a certificate from Mukti.
After the completion of the training of this batch, in the next phase, the members of the Mukti Community Development Group (MCDF) will be provided with computer training.
