Mukti is Purifying the Pond Water of Mukti Gram

Mukti has installed potable water tanks in Mukti Gram. But as Purba Sridharpur or Mukti Gram is a vast area, it is not possible for all the villagers to get the advantage of these tanks. So, Mukti aimed to purify the water of 45 ponds of Mukti Gram. It was a 15 days program.

The entire program was supervised by Mr. Gofur Molla. Mukti provided 70 Kg. of Potassium Permanganate for the purification work. Beside the treatment, Potassium Permanganate also aids in removing bacteria, pathogens, iron, algae, and other potential aquatic evildoers simply via its oxidation process as it reacts with water without harming the aquatic life.

While application of the chemical at first a small portion of the total amount of chemical required for treatment was added to water in a bucket, and then the solution was applied over the surface of the pond. This activity continued for 3 days. After 3 days the dirty water became fresh and safe for drinking.

560 villagers will be benefited through the purification program.
