Mukti is growing awareness on the high concentration of pesticides and wax in vegetables and fruits. It fuelled the quest among the women to turn away from the conventional vegetables and grow and eat organic food.
To do the same Mukti provided organic manure and issued seeds and saplings to the households. The project would strengthen the purchasing power of the villagers, and the domestic market shall also grow.
Mukti provided seasonal seeds of Tomato, Peas, Bottle Gourd, Spinach, Coriander leaves, Cauliflower, Beans, and Cabbage to set up kitchen garden.
The encouragement of Mukti has made 400 SHG members of Hingalganj branch to grow organic vegetables in their backyards.
Nutrition is important for strengthening self-immunity which is crucial to combat pandemics. Awareness about nutrition is needed for the fight against malnutrition. Kitchen gardens will help to ensure availability of affordable nutritious food for all time and the people will be well prepared for any health emergency.
