Growing Prosperity and Nutrition
Impact story of Mangala Munda Impoverished farmers often resort to purchasing cheaper vegetables from local markets, regardless of their nutritional value. This practice results in a lack of diverse, nutritious vegetables in their diets, primarily due to high prices. Mukti's project aims to address this issue. Mrs. Mangala Munda, a successful kitchen gardener from Dakshin Kankandighi, Munda Para, Raidighi in the South 24 Parganas district, had no prior knowledge of kitchen gardening. Through the project, she received a vegetable seed kit and essential inputs. Embracing the new techniques, she began cultivating a variety of vegetables such as gourds, leafy greens, and okra. Her family consumed some of the produce, while the surplus was sold in the local market.
