The ACV project is being supported by the \u201cOAK Foundation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 45 participants were divided into two groups, each with their own survey data to be analyzed. One group took up the survey on ambulance requirements at Dakshin Kashinagar, and the other took up the survey on problems related to the river embankment at Kuyemuri. Each group had data from 40 survey respondents. During the session, the participants obtained a sense of the importance of the problem they were working on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-44609 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/mukti-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-02-14-at-7.08.50-PM-300x138.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Each group was trained on the process of curating the responses, obtaining quantifiable data from relevant responses, and generating summary statistics from the data.<\/p>\n<p>Quantifiable factors that emerged in relation to river embankment problems were the distance of the house from the river boundary, the area of land owned, and the annual income before and after Amphan.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-44610 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/mukti-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-02-14-at-7.08.52-PM-300x138.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Factors in the case of the ambulance problem were the number of pregnant women in the family in the last three years, the number of women giving birth, the amount of money spent for accessing ambulance service, details of the hospital chosen, such as distance from hospital to home, road conditions, etc.<\/p>\n<p>From the survey data, both the problems of river embankment destruction and ambulance access emerged as genuine and severe.<\/p>\n<p>It is Mukti\u2019s hope that when the participants become capable of obtaining useful and quantitative information from survey data themselves, they will be able to identify and suggest solutions to their community\u2019s problems without requiring Mukti\u2019s help.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mukti conducted two capacity-building sessions on survey data analysis with Kuyemuri and Dakshin Kashinagar Participatory Action Research (PAR) groups under Amplifying community Voices (ACV) project on 13th and 14th Feb 2023.
