Mukti set up 8 handicrafts stalls at the \u201cSundarban Agriculture and Handicraft Fair 2023\u201d to promote the exhibition and sale of products produced by the MCDF (Mukti Community Development Fund) members from different parts of Sundarban who are associated with the SWAS (Swabalamban Accelerator in Sundarban) project.<\/p>\n

A seminar and felicitation program was organized on 25th<\/sup> January as part of the fair. About 1,250 MCDF members, including Forum and central committee members, participated in the event. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Chandan Kumar Maity \u2013 Headmaster of Krishnachandrapur High School, Mr. Debabrata Halder, Mr. Bapi Halder – Secretary of a local club, Mr. Raghunath Bairagi \u2013 MCDF project coordinator, Ms. Nandita Jayraman \u2013 Mukti Rights and Awareness Program Manager and Mrs. Sonamon Basu \u2013 Mukti Health Program Manager.<\/p>\n

The discussion at the seminar was conducted in three parts, namely, the organizational structure of MCDF (the pros and cons of formation of groups within MCDF), women’s rights projects “Sahasini” (VOICE), and women\u2019s health project “Swastha Sangini”.<\/p>\n

MCDF members who have come out of poverty and have overcome multiple obstacles shared their experiences on the occasion.<\/p>\n

On behalf of Mukti, Mr. Debabrata Halder felicitated 12 entrepreneurs of the SWAS project with a certificate and memento. 6-8 Forum members were felicitated with bouquets.<\/p>\n

The fair showcased a wide range of soft toys, food products, jute items and junk jewelry. Visitors at the stalls encouraged the entrepreneurs and purchased the products on display.<\/p>\n
