From 2nd<\/sup> March 2022 Mukti has started the 3rd<\/sup> phase of organic agricultural training. 8 training programs are held at Kankandighi and Nagendrapur GP. 193 farmers<\/strong> have participated in the training program. Farmers are being trained in both theoretical and practical ways.<\/p>\n

The farmers have been trained in the below-mentioned topics-<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Double engine- Farmers have been taught how other components of the environment, such as sunlight, water, air, and soil are intimately involved with the plant’s own biological cycle. They have been provided knowledge about how these components are related to the growth of a tree, life cycle, diseases etc.<\/li>\n
  2. Soil Treatment – Soil management is the application of operations, practices, and treatments to protect soil and enhance its performance (such as soil fertility or soil mechanics). It includes soil conservation, soil amendment, and optimal soil health.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Trainees are taught<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Information on the underlying scientific principles behind soil fertility in organic farming systems.<\/li>\n
    • Practical advice on managing soils in organic systems to maintain soil fertility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      1. Root Treatment\u2013 In order to fix and prevent root rot in plants, the roots must stay healthy. The farmers are instructed to avoid overwatering, allow good drainage, replace the soil if needed, and select healthy plants.<\/li>\n
      2. Prevention of Fungus- The farmers are advised to dip the healthy roots in a fungicide solution to kill off any possible root rot fungus before planting. Farmers have been provided knowledge of different types of fungi, bacteria – their types, harmful effects and how to protect the plant from their attack without harming the plant.<\/li>\n
      3. Integrated pest Management (IPM) – Integrated Pest Management aims to protect agricultural crops from economic damage by insect pests, weeds, plant pathogens, and other harmful organisms while reducing reliance on hazardous pesticides. Farmers have been trained to use some tactics like a scarecrow, sticky trap, various types of biological methods etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
