The program started at 8 AM and continued till 12 noon. Mukti working committee members Mr. Bijoy Krishna Halder, Mr. Chitta Ranjan Halder, SAM project coordinator Mr. Sourav Kayal along with <strong>140 farmers<\/strong> from Uttar Kankandighi, Dakshin Kankandighi, Purba Jata and Paschim Jata under Mathurapur II block attended the program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-41702 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/mukti-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-09-01-at-8.37.18-PM-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mukti is warming heartedly thankful to AID for the cooperation and support they have provided to the Yaas-affected farmers. Mukti is fortunate enough to get the chance to work with such a wonderful organization like AID.<\/p>\n<p>Previous year after Amphan Mukti supported the farmers with paddy seeds but this year Mukti decided to support the farmers financially due to some reasons-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Different farmers want to cultivate different varieties of paddy; it is not possible for Mukti to create various types of seedbeds.<\/li>\n<li>The agricultural lands of the Sundarbans are composed of a combination of high, middle and low lands. Depletion of water in low lands is delayed whereas water in relatively high lands drains quickly. Relatively, the timing of paddy cultivation also changes. But Mukti creates a seedbed of paddy at a time. As a result, the timing of implantation of the seeds cannot be adjusted for all types of land.<\/li>\n<li>Many times farmers even after the assurance does not take seeds from Mukti or buy them from elsewhere or do not want to cultivate organically as Mukti directs them. The seedbeds created by Mukti become useless.<\/li>\n<li>Above all, if the farmers make the seedbed by themselves, they become very careful and can cultivate paddy at their own convenience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The money provided by Mukti will help the farmers to buy salt tolerant paddy seeds, rent land and to cultivate. There is a huge loss of farmers and crops. Many farmers have been benefited from Mukti&#8217;s cooperation and Mukti has compensated many losses. Today, from the SAM office Mukti provided us monetary help so that we can cultivate salt-tolerant paddy. We are proud of Mukti. We wish for the prosperity of Mukti.
