Being a remote village of Ramchandrakhali GP under Basanti block of Sundarban in West Bengal, the villagers were spending their days between wind and water.

During the distribution, Mukti volunteers noticed a 13 years teenage boy was standing in the queue. Sariful Laskar, the boy is a resident of the same village. He came to receive the relief. When Mukti volunteers asked for his parents he said that his home had been engulfed by the flame and his parents are engaged to gather the leftover belongings. Just after hearing from him, Mukti volunteers rushed to the spot to help the family.

They saw the burnt parts of the house all over the place. Except for one room, the kitchen and the barn with crops had burnt completely. The family of 4 members was living under the sky and was almost starving. All of a sudden the fire spread from the oven. In a wink, all of our belongings burnt to ashes. It was God’s grace that we are safe.
