When cyclone \u2018Amphan\u2019 ravaged the coastal districts on 20<sup>th<\/sup> May\u201920 night, it damaged flood control embankments. It also caused cracks on the walls that caused saline water to flush in many areas of Sunderban.<\/p>\n<p>The cyclone destroyed dozens of pipelines that used to supply drinking water to the islands surrounded by rivers fed with saline tidal water from the sea.
