Cyclone Amphan\u00a0in 3 hours destroyed a few million livelihoods and uprooted many families in Bengal.<\/p>\n<p>The cyclone has destroyed the river embankment across the Sunderbans which has led to saltwater entering the land. The agrarian economy of Sunderbans is mainly based on rice-based farming on fallow land throughout the year.\u00a0Amphan left us with the skeleton of an economy. It is encouraging the locals to rebuild the river embankments as soon as possible. At Rakkhoskhali Mauja under Brajaballavpur Gram Panchayat 715 workers are engaged in repairing the river bund. The core structure is made up of soil or\u00a0river\u00a0silt. Workers dig up soils from nearby lands and fill up the holes or the damaged portion by it.
