These villages faced the fury of cyclone Aila in May 2009. They had seen their homes, their farm lands and their source of livelihood get ravaged. Mukti realized that the mud barricades (almost 2 Km.) needed repair as soon as possible. Mukti motivated the local people of Daktater Bheri, Moktarer Bheri and Uttar Kankandighi under Kankandighi Gram Panchayat to reconstruct the embankments through its \u201cFood for Work\u201d Project.
